    ECO Flight Hungary:

    Sustainability workshop for children

As part of the Eco Flight – Art becomes a social action project, we organized a sustainability workshop where children were introduced to a short excerpt from our eco-themed performance, which premiered in May.

    Staff

Our artistic team was formed in 2016 from the Simorág TánCirkusz company.

Dancers gliding like flocks of birds, jumping, spinning, spinning, somersaulting in the air up to 30 metres above the audience. Vertical dance company The Flock Project tells a story from a new perspective, turning the world upside down.

What makes the vertical dance genre special is the illusion that the performance takes place on a stage turned 90 degrees. We combine special elements of aerial acrobatics at home and internationally. The performance does not require a stage, but is performed on the walls of houses or castles, up to 30 metres in the air.

Some of our performances are stories based on theatre dramaturgy. As creators, we like to reflect on current social phenomena according to their topicality. In our work, the question of the relationship with the environment, the question of listening to each other, appears.

Creativity, modernity and technical innovation characterise our work.

    Goals

This interactive children's programme is designed to introduce participants to the world of science in a playful way:

    • how to reduce waste,
    • why selective waste collection matters,
    • how a zero waste lifestyle supports environmental protection.

During the workshop, children not only gained new knowledge but also took part in creative, sustainability-focused activities. In doing so, they actively contributed to building a greener, cleaner future—starting today.

Puppet-Making and Giant Mask Workshop from Recycled Newspaper

In this session, participants crafted their own puppets and a giant mask by creatively reusing newspaper. The workshop was enriched with fun games and storytelling, making it an enjoyable experience for all ages. Beyond offering a hands-on creative activity, the session also highlighted the possibilities of recycling paper waste in imaginative ways.

Special thanks to InBáze, z. s. and Blanka Charvatova for their support in making this workshop possible, and to Adriana Vancova for capturing the event through photos and videos.

Eco Wings – Creative Wing-Making Workshop for Little Eco-Heroes

In the inspiring setting of the Mama Shelter Hotel, children and their parents crafted colorful, unique “eco wings” from recycled materials, then proudly showcased their creations in a joyful parade. The workshop was led by artist Réka Deák, and the joy of creating together captured everyone’s imagination.

    Main elements of the workshop:

    • Crafting unique “eco wings” from recycled materials
    • Movement and playful storytelling – “How does an eco-hero fly?”
    • Learning environmental values through a fun, hands-on project

This workshop beautifully combined creative craftsmanship, movement, and environmental education, inspiring children to take action in protecting our planet in their everyday lives.
